FROM the Goodwill Bridge the fireworks went up from three barges along the river at the stroke of midnight. The thundering explosions echoed off the city buildings illuminated by the reflections of the brilliant fireworks. The gentle northerly wind caused the smoke to drift over southbank where the main crowds were gathered. |
