Well good morning friends. Today I'm in the Blue Mountains coming from the spectacular Katoomba Falls. I've been hiking over the cliffs over there with the track running over the top of them. You can probably see in the distance over there the legendary Three Sisters. It's a spectacular rock formation. It is all a big sandstone formation formed a very long time ago. The top of the plateau is just over a thousand metres above sea level. It is pretty high up and pretty cold up here. It is about 160 kilometres inland from Sydney.

I was here back in 1998 and it is good to be back again in this really spectacular area. You can see the rivers have washed out massive valleys here and the sandstone has washed out to sea. The ocean currents have washed it northwards to create all the sand islands around Brisbane from Straddie up to Fraser Island. A lot of that sand comes from the sandstone worn from up here.

It was quite misty before, but it looks like it's going to clear to be a sunny day. I'm going to see how much further along the track I can get. Part of it is closed apparently due to rockfalls. Anyway I'll see if I can get around to the Three Sisters. Otherwise I'll head around the top route back to the Three Sisters. I'm expecting it to be sunny, so I'll get to photograph it in both misty and sunny conditions.

I need to continue now, so thanks friends for joining me again today in this amazing place. I'll catch you somewhere else here in New South Wales tomorrow, so until then, ciao for now.
