Well hello friends. Today I'm coming from the Glasshouse Mountains. I haven't been out hiking for quite a while so I thought I'd better go out today. I'm in the Glasshouse Mountains just out of Beerburrum. I'm hiking along the Soldiers Settlers Track. This was where a lot of soldiers from World War I were settled and given blocks of land and they worked them in the 1920s and 1930s but this area was largely abandoned in about 1932. The old farms and villages have all disappeared.

All that is left is this track which would have been the original road. Also a bit further back I found a cemetery with graves from the 1920s and 1930s. Apart from that, this is now just a walking track that goes from the new village of Beerburrum which was settled much later and going to, you can just see Mount Beerburrum back there. I'm now going off the road here along the walking track going to the Trachyte Circuit going under the Trachyte Range heading up to Mount Tibrogargan.

It is good to be back out in the bush today. I haven't done much hiking at all of late. I've just had a lot of things happening and amongst those things I've now got myself a piano. I've been playing for forty years and thought it's time to get one. I've always just used electronic keyboards. It is really nice having a piano now. I have to wait a few weeks for it to settle in its spot before the piano technician comes out and does the tuning. It's going to sound even better then. I'm hoping to put up some videos of my music stuff. That's something to look forward to. Today I'm just doing a little hiking. It has now clouded over and there is a big rain event coming over the next three days so I thought I'd better make the most of it before I'm stuck inside. I'm going to keep going a few more kilometres and then I'm going to head back. It is beautiful being back out in the bush.

Thanks friends for joining me again today. I'm going to catch you somewhere else next time. Until then, ciao for now.
