Well hello everyone. Today I'm doing the last big hike going from Perth down to Fremantle along this side of the Swan River. My first hike headed up along the other side. Today I'm heading down this side. I left the city a little while ago and heading around the coast and then onto Fremantle.
Well everyone I've now made it down to South Mole Lighthouse at the mouth of the Swan River which is over there. You may just be able to see the city in the distance. It was about twenty kilometres coming down today. It's hard to believe I was forty kilometres upstream this time yesterday when I started yesterday afternoon's walk at Guildford. This morning I left about sunrise from Perth city. It was overcast then, but now it is almost completely clear. Most of the cloud has gone now. It is very windy here but fortunately there's a nice little sheltered spot here behind the lighthouse. I've completed today's walk. I'm going to go back to the train station before relaxing for the rest of the day.
I've now walked from Rocky Hole up on the Bibbulmun Track all the way down to here so that will be a good 61 kilometres away from here. I've now walked a continuous journey all the way from up there beyond the eastern suburbs out to here as far west as what Perth gets. Looking around here you can just see but a bit hard to see you've got Fremantle. I plan to look through Fremantle tomorrow so I'll take you through there. There's the beach up there and the old convict colony and Challenger Harbour there. In here is the entrance to Swan River so I've made it up to the lighthouse now so the walk along the Swan River downstream has officially finished.
With that in mind, thanks for joining me. Ciao for now.
